So this video is probably posted eight ways till Sunday, so I’m adding one more to the fray. My twins are going around the house cheering ‘Barack Obama’, probably because the sound of his name is so amusing, rather than raving as to what a good candidate he is/will be. Nevertheless, I want them to listen to this speech when they are old enough to understand it.
For the sake of trying to instill in them the need to listen to two sides of opinion, I will post McCain’s nomination speech next week. Also I have been teaching them to say ‘John McCain’ to pacify any relatives of the conservative persuasion who might step into our ‘purple household’…think James Carville and Mary Matalin.

My wife and I think that if Senator Obama’s speech can be believed, he represents the very best of Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, and Santa Claus.
And this is not intended as a snide remark but as the thoughtful view of an honestly impressed but skeptical/realistic couple.

Mr. Wallace, if an Obama administration can achieve 1/3 of what he proposes, I would be impressed. I, too, am skeptical, but one can always hope for change. At least I can get on the phone to our two Senator’s offices and speak out on what we think is right. Thanks for your comment!

The very idea that Obama will strive towards these fundamental ideas is encouraging. Besides, the McCain/Palin ticket is probably one of the worst I have ever seen. How can any Hilary supporter even dream of supporting McCain/Palin? Between the two of them, they destroy everything she stood for. Obama is what this nation needs. Hands down. In fact, I think one of his major platforms is now “I am not McCain, and Biden is not Palin”. Anyways, I am exited for the debates, in my estimation, McCain will be crushed by Obama’s logic, rhetoric, and values. We shall see.
